Bencullagh mountain or ‘An Chailleach’ in Irish meaning ‘the hag’ is the 232nd highest summit in Ireland. 

In the 19th century there was a famous character called ‘the witch of Clifden’ or the ‘Cailleach an Chlocháin’. It is believe the mountain is named after the witch. 

The peak of the mountain measures to a height of 632 metres (2,073 ft).
