The Claregalway museum and forge captures the rich culture, heritage, history and traditions of Claregalway’s rural parish.

The Museum provides an insight into the traditional way of life in rural Ireland of the 1950’s and before which can easily be forgotten due to the increasing urbanization of Claregalway. It also highlights the historical features of Claregalway, comprising of the 13th Century Franciscan Friary, the 15th Century Claregalway Castle and the the 17th Century Nine Arch Bridge through old documents, books, articles and newspaper cuttings. The forge is housed within a restored old Blacksmith, which was last used in the 1990’s.
