Clonboo Castle was a four storey tower house which was believed to have been built by the Skerritt family in the 15th century. It was recorded that the castle was held by Moyler MacShean in 1574.

Although now in ruins, some features of the castle can still be seen such as the entrance on the north side, corbels of a former machicolation which project from the parapet and a partial spiral staircase.
