Sitting on the banks of Lough Derg, Cloondagauv Castle is believed to have been a tower house built by the De Burgo (Burke) family. Although little is known about the uninhabited castle, it is still relatively well in tack with features such as chimney stack, bartizans and a boxed machicolation over the entrance still present.
