Built in c.1860, this former water mill is located in a very picturesque setting. The mill is perfectly situated to take advantage of two important factors, a river for power and a road for the transportation of its produce.

The mill largely retains its original appearance and is of a similar plan to other mills found throughout the country with a man-made millrace and pier to divert the water to the wheel. The mill is an important roadside reminder of the area’s industrial heritage.
