Located at the edge of Mannin Bay near Ballyconneely, the Coral Strand (or White Strand as it is otherwise known) is made up of a red calcified seaweed called maërl, or otherwise known as coralline algae, which feels like fine gravel underfoot. So much so that it became known as a “coral strand”. The beach offers a lovely location for swimming, bathing and exploring.
