Knockma Hill or ‘Cnoc Meadha’ as it is known in Irish is the 1437th highest summit in Ireland. Legend has it that the hill is home to Finnbheara, the king of the Connacht fairies. There are two large cairns on the summit of the hill, one believed to be the burial-place of Finnbheara and the other of Queen Medb.
