Lissoughter mountain or ‘Cnoc Lios Uachtair’ as it’s known in Irish meaning ‘hill of the upper ring-fort’ is situated between Lough Inagh and Recess. 

The famous Connemara green marble is produced from the quarry on the southern slopes of the mountain. It is the 940th highest summit in Ireland.
