
The Quiet Man Bridge, located near the town of Oughterard in Connemara was the setting for and made famous by the 1950’s film “The Quiet Man” starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara.
In the film, the bridge features in the opening scenes where Sean Thornton (John Wayne) dreams of his youth and hears his dead mother’s voice describing White O’Morn cottage.
Tourists come from all over the world to visit this local attraction which featured in what is regarded as one of the top 100 films ever made.
